We’re excited to join the international OpenStreetMap community at State of the Map in Firenze, August 19-21. This will be the first time the global community comes together since the pandemic.
State of the Map has always been a moment of reflection for us and we are looking forward to highlighting our continued investment in OpenStreetMap. This year we are looking to understand how our contributions impact the project at a strategic level, meet old and new friends, and come back to work with a lot of new ideas and challenges.
Lane, Vitor and Sajjad will talk about some of our most recent work:
- Saturday, August 20, 9.30AM OpenStreetMap In the Cloud. Sajjad will talk about OSM Seed — one of our most popular OSM infrastructure projects — and how we run OSM infrastructure used by organizations like OpenHistoricalMap and Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT).
- During the lightning talk sessions we will propose a talk about OSM Teams. OSM Teams has grown over the past year with the addition of user badges, team attributes and other improvements. We will give an overview of the current state of the app and how it is being used by YouthMappers, who have been using the application to organize mapping efforts.
We hope you’ll stop by our talks, but we’re also looking forward to lots of informal chats about all things OSM. We’re just excited to see everyone in-person again!
