Vitor George is a software engineer interested in geospatial technology, open data, and open-source software. He has extensive experience in building map interfaces, APIs, and data visualizations for the web and mobile.

At Devseed he is building web tools to provide better insights about the changing planet. Before joining the company he worked at Infoamazonia and helped build projects for the environment, public transparency, and citizen science. As a person who believes access to open data is essential to make the world better for everyone, Vitor has been a contributor to OpenStreetMap and other open data initiatives for many years.

Vitor has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo and worked as a transportation engineer before becoming a full-time developer. Outside work, Vitor enjoys playing football, cycling, listening to music, and reading science fiction.
