Join me in welcoming James to the team! We’ve followed James’ contributions to open source geographic data platforms for some time, and are thrilled we get a chance to work with him. He’ll join us on a short-term project before heading to The Recurse Center in NYC early next year, where he’ll participate in a community-driven educational retreat for programmers who self-direct their own projects.
James is trained to think beyond technical innovation, and build for impact. He is taking a lead role on building the interface of our Open Roads Vietnam project. During his month at Development Seed, he’ll be making significant enhancements to the user interface, rethinking error-handling in user workflows, and building out new API functionality to support these.
Prior to joining Development Seed, James has worked on a number of projects in the environmental, human rights, and natural resource management worlds.
