OpenStreetMap Introductory Workshop : While in New York City, I thought it worth mentioning this hands on workshop being led by Alex introducing OpenStreetMap, walking through how to edit and contribute to it, and showing examples of what you can do with free, community map of the world.

Sunday, September 23

Mobile Traffic Mapping Party : Come test out a mobile map designed to help transport agencies in developing countries cheaply and easily collect and analyze real-time traffic data from the World Bank and Open Plans. Before it goes abroad, you can test it out here while walking and biking around DC.
