Jeff, Eric and I land in Denver on Tuesday morning for DrupalCon. We’re excited to get in touch with all our friends from the Drupal community (it’s been a while!) and connect over node.js and our recent mapping work at MapBox. We are presenting two sessions:
Node.js, Javascript and the Future : Jeff will talk about our experiences building server side JavaScript applications in this session. He says, “for the past year I’ve been writing and launching websites built on node.js that run javascript on the server. This presentation is a update from the front lines of what using javascript for nearly everything is like.”
Designing Fast and Beautiful Maps : Eric and I will show how to design fast and beautiful maps with MapBox and our open source tools like the design studio TileMill. We will also do an in depth walk though around MapBox Streets, the new fully global map with street level detail for the entire world — all powered by OpenStreetMap. We’ll also be talking about how we handle high traffic use cases like foursquare’s switch to MapBox from Google Maps.
If you’re a site builder or mapping enthusiast, we’ll get our hands into code, render maps, and walk through integration options between MapBox maps and Drupal in the BoF session Fast and Beautiful Maps in Drupal — Site Building Strategies with MapBox Maps that we’ll host together with Sean Larkin from ThinkShout.
Anyone looking to talk more specifics about mapping, we are table crashing the exhibit hall with our friends Phase2 Technology, so look for the MapBox sign! The conference is large. Find us on Twitter to track us down: @ericg, @miccolis, and @lxbarth. Looking forward to talking with you!
