Tonight I’ll present on the new MapBox iPad app at the CocoaHeads meetup in Portland. In addition to demoing the app — which brings custom map tiles to the iPad and lets users use custom maps, add their own data to them, save and share them, and much more — I’ll talk about where the plans for the iPad app came from, what the development process entailed, and what technologies came out of it that others can use. I’ll also talk briefly about MapBox, our suite of open source mapping tools, and what can be done with them.
The meetup will take place tonight, January 19, at 7:00 pm at Small Society’s offices (517 SW 4th Avenue, Fourth Floor) in Portland, Oregon.
The MapBox App for iPad is available for free in the App Store.
