Will is a product manager at Development Seed. He helps coordinate the process of designing and delivering powerful open source tools for our partners. Will provides expertise in understanding, managing and distributing data and building architecture to stream heavy geographic data. He also contributes to the overall technology direction of Development Seed.

Will brings strong intercultural communication and broad sustainable development experience to the team. He has worked on numerous environmental, humanitarian and open data projects across several continents. Prior to joining the team, Will worked for the United Nations coordinating the development of an online tool to help humanitarians mitigate their environmental impact. He also worked to promote Open Data infrastructure for urban climate resilience, conducted environmental policy review with Greenpeace, and volunteered to build water and sanitation (WASH) projects in Western Kenya.

Will graduated from the University of Geneva in Switzerland and Tsinghua University in China where he received a dual masters in Sustainable Development. He has a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University. When he isn’t working on sustainability-related projects or looking at interesting maps, you can find Will bike touring, running, skiing, hiking or camping in the Alps.
