Tarashish is a generalist software engineer who enjoys writing code and building infrastructure that helps make our world a tiny bit better by solving real problems. He has extensive experience building scalable, distributed web applications and deploying them to cloud infrastructure. He is a keen supporter of the open source, open education and open data movements.
Before joining Development Seed, Tarashish worked at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a non-profit focused on investigative reporting. At OCCRP, he helped develop and maintain Aleph - an open source investigative data platform used by journalists around the world, built OSINT tools to help investigative journalists follow the money, and contributed to open data projects like OpenSanctions.
Tarashish has a degree in computer science from the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, India. He started his programming career by contributing to various open source projects under Google’s Summer of Code program.
When not tinkering with code, you can find Tarashish hiking and traveling with friends, tending to his garden or reading a book.
