Michael Aufreiter Developer

Michael is a developer and data visualization specialist at Development Seed, where he helps display data in interesting, compelling, and understandable ways. He is also a lead developer behind Prose, a visual interface for managing content on GitHub.

Michael is committed to the idea of open digital publishing by considering content as data and separating it from presentation. Together with an international team of volunteers he is developing Substance, an open source platform for collaborative composition and publication of digital documents on the web.

He used to work at Quasipartikel, an office sharing project he formed with friends in Linz, Austria. Michael received his Master’s of Science degree in software engineering from Johannes Kepler University. He enjoys listening to electronic music, playing outdoors, and eating cookies.
