Firza Riany is a geospatial engineer at Development Seed, where she builds open-source tools for ingesting, processing, and analyzing geospatial data. Her background spans across forestry, climate policy analysis, and spatial modeling, with experience developing workflows for forest monitoring, fire risk assessment, biodiversity analysis, and carbon accounting.

Before joining Development Seed, Firza worked at Climate Analytics as a forest data and policy analyst, contributing to the development of climate and energy models. She supported governments and companies in planning forest protection and climate change mitigation strategies.

Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new technologies and creating geospatial side projects focused on forest protection. Firza holds a master’s degree from the University of Eastern Finland and AgroParisTech Nancy through an Erasmus Joint Master’s Program.
