Ciaran is a Cloud Engineer at Development Seed. He is passionate about developing serverless tools and environments for use with global sized datasets, enabling people to produce insights from Earth Observation data.

Ciaran is passionate about supporting teams in helping them to adopt Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development, and automating their development workflows.

Prior to joining Development Seed, Ciaran worked at the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) as a Data Engineer, where he produced serverless data pipelines that used deep learning models to perform inferences at a global scale. Before making pipelines, Ciaran worked on a spatial big data platform, ingesting and storing multiple spatial datasets.

Ciaran is a graduate of the University of Plymouth in England where he received a BSc in Computer Science. For his dissertation project he created a spatial dashboard for first responders and disaster relief planners. Outside of work you can find him in the kitchen using flavors and spices from around the world while listening to 90’s hip hop.
