Becky Chen uses her design skills to engineer social impact. She is a user experience and visual communications designer with a Masters degree in social design from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. At Development Seed, Becky makes sure that we build tools that are not only elegant but also impactful. She takes complex social problems, extracts the core issues, and constructs a meaningful experiences for users. She is a champion for human-centered design and excels in visual problem solving.

While in Baltimore, Becky partnered with International Rescue Committee to create an orientation program for refugees to equip them with knowledge and resources to live more self-sufficiently in the United States. More recently she led out impact design for the Teach For America program on their national team. When she’s not designing better solutions to social problems, Becky is searching for the best bowl of pho in town or dabbling in badminton.
