Ankur Shah is a Technical Project Lead at Development Seed. He has extensive experience in geospatial data science, analysis, and visualization. Ankur grew up in the city of Mumbai in India where he developed his passion for environmental solutions after witnessing the negative impacts of air and water pollution first hand. He believes in empowering communities to use high resolution geospatial data to drive nature conservation and climate action.

Through his prior work at PlanetSapling, he has led the development of tools and datasets for mission aligned organizations such as Project Drawdown, Desert Research Institute, Industrious Labs, Cecil, and Climate TRACE. Previously, he worked at Climate Engine focusing on creating geospatial data products for climate risk analytics.

Ankur is completing his M.Sc in Biomimicry from Arizona State University and has a dual B.S. in Earth Science and Physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
