Ali is deeply passionate about changing the world with design. She’s long been an advocate of open data. She built the first design team at Sunlight Foundation so that open government data would matter to more citizens.
Ali builds open products that people love to use. Ali makes sure that our projects are built on a foundation of good user research and user-centric design. She builds memorable user interfaces that are frictionless and fun.
Originally from Northern Michigan, Ali moved to the deep south for warmer climes, attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. Since graduating, she’s worked in environments ranging from the strict confines of the Central Intelligence Agency to startup advertising firms. She has developed a deep understanding of user experience, and has led teams in tackling a wide variety of design and UX challenges.
