On-Screen Data Browsing Tools

We partnered with the Microfinance Information Exchange to build their premiere database and data visualization project - the MIX Market 2.0. The site, often referred to as the "Bloomberg of microfinance," represents a huge open data and transparency win for the entire microfinance industry. The new site we helped MIX build has powerful on-screen data browsing tools with dynamic graphing visualizations to let users thin slice information.

The MIX Market website provides information on over 2,000 microfinance institutions around the world, some with hundreds of data points dating as far back as 1996. The site, often referred to as the "Bloomberg of microfinance," represents a huge open data and transparency win for the entire microfinance industry. The new site we helped MIX build has powerful on-screen data browsing tools with dynamic graphing visualizations to let users thin slice information.

Tools for generating custom reports and comparisons between microfinance institutions across regions and sectors let users work with the data to answer their own questions. Users can also export all the data via CSV from each bank profile, enabling researchers, analysts, and others to leverage this rich data set in their own work in whatever way they see fit.
