Reference Datasets and Reference Files

Reference Datasets store non-spatial supporting documents and tabular files — methodology reports, data dictionaries, Excel tables, PDFs — that provide context for the energy planning analysis. They appear in the Downloads section of the frontend.

Adding a Reference Dataset​

  1. Go to Datasets → Reference Datasets → + Add Reference Dataset.
  2. Fill in the metadata fields (name, description, source, contact, etc.). Supports EN/PT translations.
  3. Click Save. Then add Reference Files.

Adding Reference Files​

  1. Go to Datasets → Reference Files → + Add Reference File.
  2. Select the parent Reference Dataset.
  3. Upload a file. Accepted formats: .pdf and .csv.
  4. Click Save.

Linking Reference Datasets to Data Models​

Add a Reference Dataset to a Data Model's Reference Datasets multi-select to associate it with that model's analysis context. The documents then appear in the Downloads section, filterable by model.
