Meet Kevin Bullock, our Partnerships Lead here at Development Seed. Kevin is the person making connections across the geospatial community, whether it’s teaming up with organizations pushing the edges of Earth observation, or shaping collaborations around open data and open tools. He comes to this work with an engineering background and years spent in the satellite imagery world, so he’s just as comfortable digging into technical detail as he is talking strategy.

If you’ve been to EO Summit, Overture Summit, ESIP, SatSummit, or the Forest Innovation Summit, you’ve probably seen Kevin leading a session or getting animated during hallway conversations. He’s heading to New York Climate Week next, where he’ll be talking about the role of open geospatial tools in climate action.

Sharing Ideas & Hot Takes

Kevin doesn’t save his ideas for conference stages. On LinkedIn, he’s known for thoughtful posts and quick video hot takes that cut through hype and surface what’s actually moving the field forward. Worth a follow if you want an unfiltered read on what’s happening in Earth observation.

Outside his role at Development Seed, Kevin is also dabbles in app development, experimenting with projects that are both fun and useful:

  • GeoGenius – a trivia game that puts your world knowledge to the test.

  • HydraAtlas – a mobile app for flood awareness, now in the Apple app store.

When he’s not coding or connecting people across the field, you’ll usually find Kevin outside in Arizona—running, biking, or paddleboarding with his three kids.
