We are absolutely delighted to have Emile join the team as a cloud engineer!
Emile has already made significant strides in our projects, particularly with the Multi-Mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP) – a cutting-edge NASA digital platform that focuses on the visualization and analysis of extensive biomass-related earth data. He has successfully deployed upgraded systems, including our dynamic tiler API, and has been instrumental in publishing data to the STAC catalog.
What truly sets Emile apart is his unique blend of climate science knowledge and robust software engineering skills. His understanding of the scientific programming stack, coupled with firsthand experience in Earth science, makes him invaluable for our mission to build scalable science platforms. Emile is not just an engineer; he's a scientist who deeply understands the challenges and nuances of Earth science.
Emile's commitment to empowering scientists through software is evident in his past endeavors. He has a rich background in researching the impacts of climate change using empirical methods and has provided significant scientific computing support in his previous roles. Before joining us at Development Seed, Emile honed his skills as a Data Engineer at the Rhodium Group and as a Pre-Doctoral fellow at the Climate Impact Lab, University of Chicago. His academic journey includes a master's degree from the prestigious Paris School of Economics.
When he's not busy making strides in climate science and software engineering, you might find him indulging in his love for specialty coffee or doing laps in the neighborhood pool.
We are thrilled to have Emile on our team and are excited to see how his expertise and passions will help us advance in our journey towards innovative solutions in open science and beyond.
