We’re beyond pleased to share that Rachel Wegener has joined the team at Development Seed. Rachel is passionate about software accessibility and making sure that new tools truly solve a problem. In particular, Rachel enjoys applying this ardor to improving scientific access to climate data.
Rachel joins the team as a data engineer to build geospatial processing pipelines and workflows in the cloud. She’s contributing to projects that advance the ability for scientists to utilize small sats and that make airborne science data more accessible to researchers.
Before joining the team, Rachel built pipelines to support analysis of satellite data at Maxar. She also has a history using NASA and NOAA data for climate research, with a particular focus on atmospheric science.
Based out of Denver, Rachel enjoys being able to play in both the city and the mountains. Snowboarding, swing dancing, rock climbing and going to the movies rank among the top activities. She is also an enthusiastic language learner. Rachel completed degrees in Physics and Environmental Science at the University of Denver.
