Speed Networking Event : Want to meet a lot of web professionals really quickly? Come out to this networking event combining local groups around user experience, design, content, and technology.

GeoDC Meetup : This month’s meetup is all about mobile mapping with lightning talks on NPR’s fire mapping app, Spatial Networks Fulcrum app, and the Mashup App, and Esri’s new data collection app. Come out to see what you can do with all these apps and talk with other folks interested in mapping, GIS, and geo.

FCC’s Developing with Accessibility : This FCC is organizing this event to get people using accessibility APIs and open data sets to build accessible apps and websites that are fully usable by people with disabilities. If you want to get some hands on experience building accessible tools, check this event out. There will also be a live webcast of the event.
5:00–6:30 pm
Global Development Matters Movie Night: Valley of Saints : Come for a viewing of this documentary on life in the Dal Lake, India, where the local community of fishermen and farmers increasingly rely on tourism to survive. A discussion will follow on the film and it’s take on the community and environmental impact of urbanization.

Createathon DC : This hack weekend will bring together developers, designers, and strategists to improve the online presence of three local nonprofits, including the excellent Phoenix Bikes, which teaches kids to repair and rehab bikes after school, and DC Diaper Bank and Borromeo Housing, both serving low income families and mothers.
