It’s another week chockfull of technology events, with technical meetups like NodeDC and Big Data DC, summer BBQs and day drinking events, and even a local spinoff with the inaugural Geo NoVA meetup (spun from GeoDC). Below is our roundup of tech events for the week. Make it a good one!

NodeDC : Are you a node.js developer or looking to hop into it to build fast, scalable, and flexible applications? Come out to meet other local developers and hear lightning talks on their experiences.
Geo NoVA : This is the first meetup of the VA spinoff group of GeoDC, meant to be a more convenient option to folks living and working outside of the city. Come out to chime in on what would be helpful to you for this group and to meet other mapping, geo, and GIS enthusiasts!
Big Data DC : Want to dive into the strategies of using big data? This month’s meetup will feature talks on an open source stack for working with it that integrates many open source building blocks, and on load balancing techniques.

Our Summer BBQ : Here at Development Seed and MapBox, we celebrating the official start of summer one week late with a summer BBQ. After work on Friday, we’ll be grilling up half smokes, cracking open cold beers, and hanging out with other folks interested in the open source, mapping, international development, and local startup communities.
