FrontlineSMS Version 2 Launch Party : FrontlineSMS is hosting launch parties in three cities — Washington, DC, London, and Nairobi — to celebrate the launch of the latest version of the open source SMS-messaging platform. It will be interesting to see what they unveil!

6:00–8:45 pm

2nd Annual OSS BBQ : The DCjQuery, WordPressDC, DCPHP, and DC Droid meetup groups are joining together on Tuesday for a summer barbecue. Come out to talk open source, celebrate the start of summer, and enjoy some great food.

DC Nightowls Co-working Session : Looking for some late night inspiration? Check out the DC Nightowls group, which comes together weekly to work into the night together on interesting solo projects. This week’s session will be held at the Dupont Circle Business Incubator.

Bikes and Byzantium : HacDC is hosting a bike social, where people interested in hacking their bikes will attend to talk bike tires and other ways to tweak out their rides.

e-Government Startup Weekend : Want to work on a solution to help advance technology and openness in the government? Check out this hackathon, put on in part by Code for America, that’s focused entirely on helping the government implement better technology. DJ will be there from our team training people on how to use TileMill to make interactive web maps using government and other open data.
