The State of the Map EU, OpenStreetMap’s bi-annual conference, takes place this weekend (July 15- 17) in Vienna, Austria, and I’ll be there all three days to learn and talk about our mapping work. The conference schedule looks amazing, and it will be fun to participate in the incredible momentum of the OpenStreetMap community.
I’m especially excited about attending this conference because OpenStreetMap is such a vital part of our work. We use its data in many of the maps we create for public use on MapBox.com, and in maps like this one of Vienna.
I made this map using our open source map design studio TileMill, which makes it easy to create custom maps with just about any data you have — including OpenStreetMap data. If you’re at State of the Map and are interested in TileMill, be sure to find me for a demo of how to make custom maps with TileMill and host and share them with TileStream.
I’ll also be tweeting from the event at @kkaefer.
