Adrian is a developer at Development Seed. He is a consummate tool builder with a true passion for automation. Adrian would rather spend a week building a robot to clean his house than just clean his house.

His mission in life is to rid the world of as many boring, repetitive tasks as he can get his hands on, and he believes that better tools will make the lives of his users more efficient and effective, granting them the freedom to tackle ever bigger and more interesting challenges. Simpler tools lower the barriers to entry, widen the playing field, and enable more people to compete. As such, Adrian firmly believes that repetition is the enemy of innovation and the antithesis of empowerment.

Adrian is equally comfortably designing accessible user interfaces and implementing complex backend architectures that make use of a multitude of different components. The fruits of his labor include significant contributions to the Drupal project and the Aegir project, which he founded to allow developers and site administrators to automate many of the common tasks associated with deploying and managing large websites.

Adrian, his robot army, and his two cats reside in Cape Town, South Africa.
