For all positions, we follow a standard process to narrow down candidates and ensure that we have ample opportunities to understand an individual's technical background and experience and to get to know her or him personally.

The first step to applying to work with Development Seed is to submit a resume, a note explaining your interest in the position, and any other materials requested in the job listing. We review applications as we receive them. Applicants must meet all required skills in order to be considered for a position, and of course must provide all necessary materials.

Our office is based in Washington, DC, as is our team. We find we are best at what we do when we do it together, while sitting around the same table. We refer to it as hivemind. The combination of sitting together, feeding off each other's energy, quickly transferring information, and blowing off steam together makes our work better, and makes us each feel we are part of something bigger. In almost every case, telecommuting is not an option.

If we review your application and determine that you meet the position's requirements, we'll send you a brief questionnaire designed to tell us more about your specific experience and knowledge around the skills needed for the position or request a code sample or some previous work to review. If after reviewing what you provide we determine that you have the skill set we're looking for, we'll schedule a phone interview to discuss your experience and the position at greater length. Prior to making a final decision, we like to interview candidates in person.
