Timeline is a very cool module that lets you display nodes or events on a very nice, interactive timeline. This display was developed by the folks over at MIT's SIMILE Project, and they describe it as a "DHTML-based AJAXy widget for visualizing time-based events. It is like Google Maps for time-based information."
Here's a quick look at it.
We've been using timeline in some recent projects, and in the process I've updated it to Drupal 5. We've also been working on extending what can be done with it visually and boosting its performance to show many, many points. So far it's looking good. It will be exciting to see what we can make it do and sharing that with the community.
I'll be maintaining timeline's Drupal 5.x branch along with Arto, one of the original developers and who has been maintaining it. (He's also put together a great example of what timeline can do - check out his Universal Timeline Aggregator.)
