It's another busy week for technology folks here in DC, with events for pitching TechCrunch, bowling with jQuery developers, and nerding out over beers, presentations, and local music at Nerd Nite. The open source geo conference FOSS4G is also in town this week, holding a three day event on advancing open source in the geospatial space. It should be a fun week!

TechCrunch DC Meetup: TechCrunch is in town and hosting a networking event tonight at RFD. TechCrunch writers will be there looking for pitches and ideas to add to their coverage, and are asking folks to bring their ipads loaded with their pitch decks.

Meetups@MLK - Prelaunch: This meetup for meetup organizers will show what the Martin Luther King library has to offer in terms of space and equipment, and allow organizers to give feedback on how to best accommodate great events for the local tech community.
DC Nightowls: Want to work late tonight with the support of others burning the midnight oil? Come out to the Nightowls meetup with your computer and latest project to work on and share with the group.

FOSS4G Conference: Tomorrow and Wednesday developers and implementers will gather to discuss open source geospatial technology, touching on cool existing technologies and what's needed to continue advancing moving forward. We'll be there talking about the future of web mapping, our street-level map of the world, and cartography. Tickets are still available at the door.
Node.js Explained: This month's NoVa:JS meetup will feature a presentation on node.js, focusing on the basic theory and programming model central to Node's approach and discussing the benefits and challenges that come with it. This meetup is in Reston, VA.
