Week in DC Tech

Want to hear what local women coders and entrepreneurs are creating? Or learn more about Python, or get involved in Wikimedia? These are some of the meetups happening in Washington, DC this week that caught our attention. Below is our event roundup for the week, and you can find a full calendar over at DC Tech Events.

Tuesday, May 3

7:00 pm

DC Tech Meetup: One of the newer and larger tech meetups in town, this month's event will feature seven lightning talks and demos by female developers, entrepreneurs, and investors, followed by an open mic session where more ladies can talk about their work.

7:00 pm

DC Python Meetup: The monthly meetup is a great chance to meet other Python developers and learn about the programming language. For fair warning, talks often rely on people having a solid JavaScript background.

Saturday, May 7

3:30 pm

Wikipedia Meetup: This meetup kicks off the Wikimedia DC Chapter, covering all the logistics of starting a new group, the direction the members want to take it, and some early prep for the Wikimania 2012 conference that's coming to Washington, DC next year.
