There are a lot of interesting technology events happening in Washington, DC this week, like a hack day hosted by the FCC and meetups on CouchDB, Drupal, and HTML5. Below is a roundup of the events that we are hoping to attend this week. You can find more events over at DC Tech Events. Have a great week!
Monday, November 8
FCC Open Developer Day: As we wrote about earlier today, the FCC is holding an open source, open data hack day, bringing together developers and the FCC to work on improving accessibility and the FCC's data API's. Eric, Tom, and Ian all participated from our team.
6:30 - 9:00 pm
Data BBQ 2.0: What better way to kick off the mHealth Summit 2010 than with a BBQ? There will be food, drinks, health, and data - plus a lot of folks talking about open data and what it can do for public health and other sectors.
7:00 - 9:00 pm
DC Drupal meetup: This month's Drupal meetup will showcase a variety of different websites built on Drupal in '2 minute site tours', ranging from websites built for government agencies, nonprofits, disaster relief efforts, advocacy, and more. It will be a great chance to see some of the different tools that can be built on the open source platform.
Wednesday, November 10
DC HTML5 Meetup: Interested in HTML5? Come out to this meetup to talk about it and meet other developers using it.
This month's PHP meetup will feature a presentation on CouchDB, an open source document-oriented database that we're excited to use in some of our upcoming projects. Will, Tom, and Eric will be there from our team to learn more about it and share our experiences.
