Tuesday, March 30

8:00 - 9:30 am

Mobile Outlook 2010: Like a rousing conversation over breakfast? Come out to this panel discussion on the mobile industry, covering topics including the rapid growth of mobile apps, mobile advertising and content, geo-targeting integration, and emerging business models. Part of the Potomac Tech Wire breakfast series, this event does cost $89 to attend.

6:30 - 8:30 pm

Intellectual Property and the Web: Come out for a discussion on online intellectual property led by an attorney for a local IP law firm. The talk will get into domain name vs. trademark rights, keyword use of competitor trademarks, website owners’ liability for hosting infringers, and how social media plays into IP rights.

Wednesday, March 31

6:00 - 9:00 pm

Capital Cabal: The Future of the Internet, Part IV: Want the scoop on the latest internet usage survey results from the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project? They’ll be shared at this event and followed by a conversation about how information is being shared and rendered and what it means for the bigger picture. Fee: $55 in advance, $75 at the door.

6:30 - 8:30 pm

Sip and Twit America: It was just a matter of time before local wine tastings used twitter to share information and opinions on their wines. At this wine tasting of various local and national wines, participants will be asked to tweet their impressions so people can follow the tasting online.

7:00 - 9:00 pm

DC ALT.NET: Working Effectively with Git: We’ve been using - and liking - Git for awhile now, and are happy to see an entire event happening around the version control system. This meetup will feature an overview of Git and talk about how developers can work with it effectively.

iPad Eve: Come out to celebrate the release of the iPad, happening this Saturday, with a happy hour at 1410Q and heated conversations around the iPad’s inevitable success or demise.
