After the mayhem that was Digital Capital Week last week with literally tons of awesome technology events taking place, it’s no big surprise that this week is much quieter. Even so, there are still several interesting technology events scheduled for this week. Have a great week!

8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Drupal LibraryCamp: Ahead of the American Library Association’s annual conference here in DC, a group of Drupalers and library enthusiasts will hold this one day unconference to talk about how Drupal can power library websites and systems, talk about the specific use cases and online needs of libraries, and learn from each other.

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Mobile Phones and Peacebuilding in Afghanistan: The U.S. Institute for Peace is holding this half day event to look at how mobile phones are and could be used to improve peace building efforts on the ground in Afghanistan, particularly those relating to governance, countering extremism, and delivery essential good. Eric will be on the panel “Tackling Corruption and Improving Governance” and will talk about what we’ve seen in our election monitoring work in Afghanistan. It will also be webcast if you can’t make the event here in Washington, DC.

7:00 pm

DC CiviCRM Meetup: Interested in an open source CRM? This meetup will include a discussion around CiviCRM, and specifically on how one nonprofit uses the platform to meet their CRM needs while reducing costs.
