Week in DC Technology

It looks like it will be a beautiful week in Washington, DC with lots of sunshine and more moderate summer temperatures, which is great since this weekend kicks of two great events - Digital Capital Week and of course the World Cup! There are some great events happening late in the week around both, and next week will be a packed one with many technology events organized around Digital Capital Week - the week long festival that celebrates technology through a slew of many and very different events. So check out the technology events happening this week below and the full event calendar at DC Tech Events, and we hope to see you out sometime this week or next!

Friday, June 11

9:00 pm - late

DCWEEK’s Opening Party: The kick off to the week long technology festival Digital Capital Week will bring together designers, developers, artists, musicians, and hackers and mix them up with a lot of free booze. Guaranteed to be interesting. I’ll be there along with some other folks from Development Seed.

Saturday, June 12

7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Soccer In The Circle: Want to soak up some sunshine while watching some of the first matches in the World Cup? Head over to Dupont Circle on Saturday. Three games will be played on two big screens, including USA vs. England at 2:30 pm.

9:00 am - Noon

From $1 Million to $10 Million: DC is ranked dead last in “ease of starting a business”, but even so there is a vibrant and growing technology business community. This event will bring together people who are supported growing tech businesses and start ups, and those companies trying to move from $1 million to the next level.

12:30 - 7:00 pm

CityCampDC: This unconference will bring together local government officials, civic organizations, social entrepreneurs, technologists, and creatives to brainstorm ways to make DC a better place to live and then challenge them to go out and build the solutions in their neighborhoods.
