In the next few days a good portion of our team will be traveling to Copenhagen, where more than 1,000 Drupal developers will be gathering for the latest DrupalCon. We’re looking forward to catching up with folks on what they’ve been up to since San Francisco, and particularly in talking about some of the recent work we’ve been doing around smart development and management processes, Drupal distros, and aggregation in real-time.

DrupalCons are always a lot of fun, and this one sounds like it will be especially interesting with more than 90 sessions spread across three days, the second ever Core Developer summit, an unconference and a code sprint, and its very own beer - Awesomesauce.
Our Sessions
We’ll be participating in six sessions at the conference. The full schedule is on the Drupalcon website, and all sessions will be recorded and posted on the site.
-
Drupal Distributions: The Dos and Don’ts: Jeff will join Irakli from Phase2 Technology to talk about our experience building and maintaining the Drupal distributions Open Atrium and Managing News and how modules like CTools, Features, Drush, and others make this a lot easier. Tuesday, 9:00 am, Valhalla Room. Slides here.
-
Go Real-time with Pubsubhubub and Feeds: Alex will present on PubSubHubbub (short PuSH), a publish/subscribe protocol for RSS and Atom feeds that allows for real-time aggregation, and how it can be used in Drupal with the Feeds and PuSH Hub modules. Wednesday, 9:00 am, Acquia Room Slides here.
-
For Every Site, a .Make File: In this session Jeff will talk about how Drush and .make files are changing how Drupal sites are built, and how they will increase your open source karma, let you never download views, cck and core again, and make sure that you never build a blog again. Wednesday, 2:45 pm, Trellon Room. Slides here.
-
Panel: Managing a Drupal Consulting Firm: In this panel Eric, along with the heads of six other Drupal shops, will talk about how they run their business, what works well, and what doesn’t work at all. Wednesday, 5:15 pm, Acquia Room
-
Aegir - One Drupal to Rule Them All!: Development on Aegir - the provisioning system that lets you manage thousands of sites across concurrent instances of Drupal on as many servers as you need - has been super charged recently. In this talk, Adrian will run through Aegir’s new features and how you can get started using them. Thursday, 1:30 pm, Microsoft Room
-
Backstage with Drupal Localization: Jose will join Gabor in this session to talk about localization in Drupal, and specifically on how we’re using it to translate Open Atrium into 37 languages. Thursday, 2:45 pm, VPS.net Room. Slides, Part 2.
Where else we’ll be
In addition to our sessions, we’ll be participating in BoFs throughout the conference and will be at the Core Developer Summit on Sunday, the unconference on Monday, and the code sprint on Friday. We’ll also have a table at the venue, so stop by if you’d like to see a demo of Open Atrium, Managing News, our open data projects, or our latest mapping work.
This conference should be a blast. You can follow us on twitter for updates from DrupalCon - @ericg, @lxbarth, @miccolis, @josereyero, and @adrianrossouw.
