Later today we’ll head out to DrupalCon San Francisco, and what will be the largest gathering of Drupal developers ever. Needless to say, we’re excited. A lot has happened in the six months since DrupalCon Paris, and we’re looking forward to sharing our latest work and ideas with everyone, getting feedback, and working together to push some great projects forward. In particular, we’re excited to talk about our latest ideas for improving site building with the Kit module, dive deeper into what can be done with Exportables and Features, and reveal more about the Open Atrium partners program plus another new program we’ll be announcing soon.

It will be a busy DrupalCon for us. We’re participating in nine sessions, on topics ranging from Open Atrium to Aggregation to Drush to using Drupal as a product platform, and we plan to be involved in lots of BOFs too. We’ll also be at the Core Developer Summit on Saturday, where Young will talk about Exportables.

DrupalCon Sessions

• The Heart of Open Atrium: Context, PURL and Spaces: Three technologies make up the guts of Open Atrium and drive its information architecture - Context, PURL, and Spaces. Young will talk about how these modules came about, what their roles are, and how they can be used together to create something greater than the sum of their parts.

• Managing and Deploying Configuration with Exportables and the Features Module: We all want to make site development and deployment easier. In this session Jeff will talk about how the Features does this and why we’re using it in practically everything that we build.

• Aggregate and import with Feeds!: In this session, Alex will talk about Feeds - a powerful new import and aggregation framework for Drupal - that can do amazing things for aggregating and importing information into Drupal sites. Check out Managing News to see a great example of what Feeds can power.

• The State of Drupal as a Web Application and Product Platform: Drupal isn’t just a CMS - it’s also a framework that’s being used more and more to build products. Eric will be on this panel to talk about how we’re using Drupal as the framework supporting products like Open Atrium and Managing News.

• Advanced Drush: Drush is an amazing tool to help speed up administration of Drupal sites. This session, which Adrian will be on, will run through the major features of Drush and Drupal shell. If you’re new to Drush, this session could very well change your life.

• Strategies for Community Contributions: Eric, along with Mike Meyers and Greg Knaddison, will discuss strategies strategies for how to successfully commit code back to the Drupal community and how to prioritize in your company and with your clients successfully.

• Drupal Distributions on Drupal.org: Jeff will be joining this panel discussion to talk about our experience with Drupal distributions with Open Atrium and Managing News and ways to make hosting them on Drupal.org better.

• Best Practices For Managing a Drupal Firm: Eric will join the heads of seven other awesome Drupal shops to trade business tricks that made their company more successful - and ones that totally bombed.

• Harnessing Drupal for Your Next Web Project: If you’re new to Drupal and considering it for an upcoming project, check out this session to see if Drupal is right for your organization and how to use it to create a killer website. Eric will be on this panel, along with some folks from amazing Drupal shops.
