April GeoDC Meetup is Today

Talking about Where 2.0, OpenStreetMap and Haiti, and other geo-related topics

The April edition of GeoDC’s meetup will take place today (Wednesday, April 7), and there will be a lot to talk about. I’ll present on my recent trip to Port-au-Prince with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team where we conducted outreach and training on OSM targeted at earthquake recovery efforts. I’m looking forward to hearing news from the Where 2.0 conference and WhereCamp from folks that were there.

OpenStreetMap in Haiti

We’ll get started at 7:00 pm with lightning talks - five minute informal presentations on the topics above and anything else that people have been working on, have questions about, or want to strike up a conversation on. These talks are a great way to quickly get a sense of what we’re all up to and allow time for informal conversation over beers and foosball afterwards.

The meetup will be at Stetson’s Famous Bar and Grill at 1610 U St NW, just a few blocks from the U St/Cardozo Metro stop on the Green Line and steps off the 16th street and 90 bus lines.

RSVP if you can make it and let us know if you’ve got something you want to present about. Hope to see you there!
