While it’s officially springtime in Washington, I’m sorry to report that there is no truly spring weather on the horizon – at least not the warm kind, and at least not this week. Luckily, there are quite a few intriguing tech events planned that will help brighten the days. Here’s a look at the events we’re most looking forward to this week. As always, you can find a full listing of what’s happening in the world of tech in DC at DC Tech Events.

Developing Your Agency’s Vision for Transparency and Open Government: The Obama administration has set a clear goal of making the government more transparent and open. Now it’s just a matter of making that happen. This online seminar will discuss what agencies and others can be doing now to prepare for this shift in operations and culture.

DCPHP Beverage Subgroup: This is meetup for all the beer drinking geeks out there. This Tuesday PHP coders will be getting together to talk code over beer. It’s code, it’s beer, and it’s casual.

DC Media Makers: This group of bloggers, podcasters, and other users of digital communications will get together to share tips and tricks this Wednesday. Three online video buffs will also be giving short talks about their work and the tools they use.
Friday, March 27 – Saturday, March 28, 2009

Government 2.0 Camp: This unconference will bring together 500 people working in government, the tech industry, and academia to put their heads together and share ideas on how the U.S. government – at all levels – can become more efficient, effective, and collaborative through the use of social media tools and other web 2.0 technologies.
Hope to see you out this week!
