Washington, DC Drupal Meetup Tonight

Tonight most of Development Seed will be heading out for the July Drupal meetup in Washington, DC. Meetups are a great chance to catch up with other local developers, hear what everyone is working on, and share tricks with each other. We haven’t signed up to give a specific lightening talk yet, but we’ll probably spill some details about Open Atrium, which we’ll be releasing the beta of this week.

We’ll meet at Stetson’s at 7:00 pm at the upstairs bar. For more details, to rsvp, and to volunteer to give a lightening talk, head over to the announcement in the DC Drupal group. Hope to see you there!

Drupal at HostingCon, Washington DC, Aug 11-12

Hi, could you mention that we need volunteers for the booth at Hostingcon in DC, Aug 11-12.

We explain what Drupal is and best practices for hosting Drupal. Our goal is to get more hosting companies to prominently feature Drupal as one of their hosting applications and let them know how they can participate in the community.

Operations

As our general manager, Bonnie runs everything “behind the scenes” at Development Seed and makes sure our operations run smoothly. She’s always on the lookout for new paths to guide us down and she is the driving force in getting us there.

Bonnie is also a communications strategist who leads our organizational communications. She excels at using creative and tested techniques to improve messaging and engage online communities. As a regular contributor to our blog, her firsthand experience creating successful communications strategies makes her an important asset to our partners as they seek ways to best utilize online mediums and spread their own messages.

Before joining Development Seed, Bonnie ran the online communications at NTEN, the Nonprofit Technology Network. She’s also worked as a journalist, a researcher, and an online writer for nonprofits in DC and in Latin America. Bonnie holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from American University in Washington, DC.
