Well, it’s official. We’re looking at six more weeks of winter after Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning. However, that does give us all a few more weeks to hone our tech skills and network with colleagues before spring fever sets in. Below are some of the local tech events taking place this week that caught our interest, and you can find a full look at what’s happening this week in the DC tech scene here.
Monday, February 2
9:30 am – 5:00 pm
Feminism 2.0: This day long conference brings together the leaders of women’s advocacy organizations with the leaders of women’s online communities so they can all work together to further feminist causes and work together.

HacDC: Building a Community Website: HacDC, a group dedicated to technical, artistic, and social collaboration, is getting together this week to look at how to build a community website.

NOVA Drupal Meetup: This week the Northern Virginia Drupal group will chat over beers and showcase three great Drupal websites: WETA.org, CondoAuthority, and the New America Foundation’s the State of State Health website. Look for Jeff and I there.

SchmooCon 2009: The best way to improve your tech skills is by doing, so head over to this hacker convention to get your hands on new technology, build and break some things, and hang out with other programmers.
See you out this week!
