Week in DC Tech: August 10th Edition

Drupal, New Media, and AC This Week in Washington, DC

The hot, humid weather we had luckily escaped for most of the summer is here, and it’s just plain hot outside with temperatures getting up to 99 degrees today. Why not cool off and learn something by checking out one of the tech events happening – in air conditioned bars and venues – this week? Below are a few events that caught our eye, and you can find a full listing of the week’s events at DC Tech Events.

Monday, August 10

All day

HostingCon: This conference brings together hosting professionals from all over the country to learn about new technologies like cloud computing, share knowledge, and network. It’s happening over at the National Harbor and could be a great excuse to check out the new conference center if you haven’t yet. If you go, be sure to stop by the Drupal table in the exhibit hall.

7:00 – 9:00 pm

DC Drupal Meetup: Drupal is a leading open source content management system, and one that has been getting more and more buzz. Come out to learn more about the platform and to talk and learn from Drupal developers. Many of us from Development Seed will be there!

Tuesday, August 11

7:00 pm

New Media Women Entrepreneurs Meetup: This is the first meetup for this group. If you’re a woman interested in new media, consider coming out to meet new people and see what you can learn from this group.

Saturday, August 15

10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Online Video for Non-Profits Workshop: If you’d like to use video to advance your cause, come out for this hands on workshop to learn the in’s and out’s of creating and publishing meaningful videos online.

Have a great week!
