The August DC Drupal meetup will take place tonight at 7:00 pm at Stetson’s, and a bunch of us from Development Seed are planning to attend. We always find that the meetups are a great chance to learn from other Drupal developers, and it’s always fun to catch up with everyone over a beer.

As usual, there will be a round of lightning talks where people can take the floor to talk about something they’re working on in Drupal - in five minutes or less. Anyone can give a lightning talk, and if you have something to share just speak up at the meetup. We’ll be giving two talks tonight:
-
Robert will talk about Features in Drupal and will give some examples of what you can do with them.
-
Tom will talk about sms parsing and how to get sms messages into a Drupal site, which can allow you to do anything from geo-mapping text messages in realtime to running calculations on data coming in from the field.
Also, Jeff from Phase2 Technology will talk about their Tattler (app), an open source topic monitoring tool.
More details on the meetup are in over in the Washington, DC Drupal group. Hope to see you tonight!
