Week in DC Tech: June 2 Edition

Come Our for Some Great Tech Events

It's getting hotter as we move into June, but we're far from the lazy days of August where much of the city escapes the humidity to just go someplace else. That means there are still a lot of great tech events happening in the city this week - if you can pull yourself back inside after work that is. Here are the ones we're hoping to check out this week. For a full listing of tech events happening in Washington, DC, go to DC Tech Events

Monday - Wednesday
9:00 am Monday to 12:30 Wednesday

Social Marketing University: Want to market your cause like a rockstar, or like Apple? This training held by George Washington University will teach you how to use social marketing to convince people to act for your cause. '

DC PHP Conference: This is your chance to learn about the latest developments in PHP and meet other developers and users. We're sorry we won't be able to swing by this one.

Tuesday
7:00 to 9:00 pm

Python June Meeting: This is just like a Drupal meetup, but for Python users instead. We've been dipping our toes into the waters of Python use to bring features to our news aggregator Managing News and are excited to meet other people in the commuity.

8:00 pm

An Evening with Chuck Palahnuick: The author of very original and out there books like Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, and Diary will be talking about his most recent book Snuff at the Avalon Theatre.

Wednesday
7:30 - 10:00 pm

HacDC Weekly Org Meeting: Are you a techie or a tinkerer looking to work on projects with a team rather than solo? Then check out this meetup.

Saturday
1:00 to 3:00 pm

Washington Digital Video June Meeting: If you're working on a digital video project or want to be, swing by this meetup with a stack of business cards to hand out.

See you out this week!
